Since bursting onto the country music landscape in the 1960s, Nelson remains an icon in American popular culture today. His career, spanning across six decades, has given Nelson enduring influence in pop, rock, and country music. The critical success of his 1973 the album Shotgun Willie, combined with the commercial success of Red Headed Stranger in 1975 made Nelson one of the most recognized artists in country music. Flanked by the unchanging "family" band lineup (sister Bobbie on piano, Mickey Raphael on harmonica, and brothers Paul and Billy English, interchangeably, on drums) Nelson continues to tour and has performed in concerts and fundraisers with other major musicians across the country.

Nelson has a prolific stash of albums (over 100) and iconic singles have made him a legend. Willie Nelson is best known for hits like "Funny How Time Slips Away", "Hello Walls", "Pretty Paper", and "Crazy". His signature songs include “On the Road Again,” “Mammas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys,” a duet with Jennings, and “If You’ve Got the Money I’ve Got the Time,” which was a top ten country single in 1976. In 2004, Nelson released Outlaws & Angels, which featured a variety of musicians, including Merle Haggard, Ben Harper, and Los Lonely Boys. He recently sang a duet with Toby Keith in the song “Whiskey for My Men, Beer for My Horses.”

Treena Parvello, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the Tohono O'odham Gaming Enterprise, said, “Willie Nelson is one of the most recognized artists in country music. His six-decade career has made him an American icon. If you see one show this coming season, come see Willy!”
