The band has sold fifteen million albums worldwide and is credited with the early success of Rounder Records. They are best known for their hit songs like "Bad to the Bone," as well as covers of blues standards such as Hank Williams' "Move It On Over," John Lee Hooker's "House Rent Boogie/One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer" and Bo Diddley's "Who Do You Love?".

Blues guitarist George Thorogood, inspired by stories about Mick Jagger, Chicago’s Chess Records and a 1970’s John Paul Hammond, formed the Destroyers in Delaware in 1973. The now legendary group got their start playing back-up for visiting blues stars in Delaware. They recorded their first album in 1975 with Rounder Records and released it in 1978. The band got their big surge in popularity in 1981 when they opened for the Rolling Stones at several American gigs.

Treena Parvello, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the Tohono O'odham Gaming Enterprise, said, “Hearing George Thorogood’s ‘Bad to the Bone’ in person is an experience unlike any other. Thorogood puts the rock and roll blues back in Southern Arizona. This is one performance you won’t want to miss.”
