TUCSON, Ariz. – Monsoon Night Club at Desert Diamond Casino-Hotel is hosting another night of free comedy on Feb. 18. The Comedy Spot Comedy Club is bringing famed improv comedy duo, The Stagebenders, to Tucson, Ariz. as part of their continued partnership in providing quality comedy shows to Southern Arizona fans. The show is scheduled to start at 8:00 p.m., with seating beginning at 7:00 p.m. All shows are free to the public; guests must be 21 years old or older to attend. Tickets are required for entry; guests can pick up the free tickets at the Players Club at Desert Diamond Casino-Hotel, or at the hotel’s front desk. The Stagebenders, made up of Kim Thomassen and Gust Alexander, is the latest pair to entertain crowds through their use of interactive comedy. With over fifteen years experience in the industry, The Stagebenders have built up an impressive list of followers, including Geena Davis, The Kinks and Budd Friedman. They have also had numerous appearances on television and film, such as “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” MTV’s “The Jenny McCarthy Show,” and the Coen Brothers’ The Naked Man. They have also been featured in the national publication, Esquire. In addition to their Las Vegas shows over Thanksgiving and Christmas, The Stagebenders perform across the country at comedy clubs and Fortune 500 company events.
There will be three other comedians performing at the Monsoon Night Club on Feb. 18.

The Comedy Spot Comedy Club first formed in 2003 in Scottsdale, Ariz. They have been host to nationally-known comedians that have been on Comedy Central, Leno, Letterman, HBO, and Showtime. In addition to professional comedy acts, the Comedy Spot also offers open-mic nights and comedy classes.
